Benjamin Mugica
END OF MESSAGE
Voicemails get lost and found in space in this thoughtful commentary on the fractured act of communication and the spaces between people trying to express themselves.
Inspired by found sound of missed voicemails, animated in inky black and electric colour, and produced as part of the 10th edition of the NFB’s Hothouse apprenticeship, in collaboration with the Mexican Film Institute.
Benjamín Mugica studied Visual Arts at the Academia de Artes Visuales in Mexico City. His first works were drawings, paintings, and ceramic sculptures. As a form of cinema, animation offers him a platform for all the conceptual and tangible applications of time. His previous films include Error en Uso (2011) and Sonidos Movimiento (2011).
