SYNOPSIS
Aimée van Drimmelen’s Black Gold employs hand-drawn animation layered over stop-motion sequences of moving ink on drumskins to create a striking, mournful portrait of the Alberta tar sands. Created in a cabin in Saskatchewan, this is Aimée’s first animated film.
BIOGRAPHY
Aimée van Drimmelen is an artist, illustrator and musician formerly based in Montreal and currently residing on the west coast of Canada.
