Hothouse 2 repeated the successful concept of the first edition: in only twelve weeks, enabling the creation of six shortest of the shorts in Montreal’s Animation Studio. This edition’s emerging filmmakers from across Canada were mentored by Oscar-nominated® director Janet Perlman and a team of NFB Animation Studio technical and postproduction experts, all guided by producers as creative partners.

Janet Perlman – Mentoring Director

Janet has created original cutting-edge animation for the NFB, Acme Filmworks, Oxygen and Cartoon Network. Her films have received international acclaim, including an Oscar® nomination for her NFB film The Tender Tale of Cinderella Penguin and major awards in Chicago, Montreal and Berlin for her films from the ShowPeace series on conflict resolution, Dinner for Two and Bully Dance.
