For this third edition, it was not quick and dirty but rather intense and amazing!

Another unique collection of emerging creators with imagination, vision and enthusiasm came from across Canada to Montreal’s Animation Studio – a sort of horticultural hothouse where optimal conditions encouraged full flowering in only 12 weeks.

Hothouse filmmakers were supported by this edition’s mentoring director Shira Avni and the team of NFB experts, all insuring the creative and technical excellence that is the hallmark of NFB animation.

Mentoring Team:

Shira Avni – Mentoring Director
Shira holds a BFA in Animation and an MFA in Film/Video/New Media. She has worked as a director and animator at the NFB since 1997. Her first film, From Far Away, has screened in over thirty festivals worldwide and has won several prizes. Her latest film, John and Michael, continues her passion for creating innovative and challenging children’s media.
