Patrick Doyon was born in 1979. He received a degree in graphic design from the Université du Québec à Montréal. While he was a student, he created an experimental short film entitled 32:11 (2002). Although it was his first attempt at animation, the film was selected and screened in conjunction with several events, including the Zagreb and Ottawa animation festivals.

In 2004-2005, he worked as a storyboard assistant and designer/animator for two televised animation series.
