Watch Lost Monster Hop

Jody once studied acting and directing for the theatre but found she was more comfortable doodling peacefully in a dark room. Her first film, Pinch, won awards at the Montreal World Film Festival and at the Ottawa International Animation Festival. As well as animating, she reads comic books, listens to cheesy old country music and jams with her mandolin-picking sweetheart. Jody lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she has already begun work on her next project, Scavenger. It is a messy film about diseased mice, rabid raccoons and the way we wash our hands.

Artist Statement:

At home in Vancouver, Jody is active in the thriving bluegrass and old-time community. In the jam sessions that are so central to the community, complete strangers often come together to spontaneously play music, in parking lots and on ferries, in living rooms and parks. Lost Monster Hop is a silly salute to the lonesome and pain-filled music that heals broken hearts and brings people together.
