Children wait their turn for a once-in-a-lifetime roller coaster ride. A loving and poignant meditation on childhood and the passage of time.

Inspired by found sound of a theme park in the distance, lyrically rendered in pencil and paper, and produced as part of the 10th edition of the NFB’s Hothouse apprenticeship.

Kathleen Weldon is a native Montrealer and life-long drawer who came to animation by chance when asked to collaborate on a music video for Patrick Watson. There she discovered a love for the painstaking process of bringing drawn figures to life. After animating on other videos, she has worked as an illustrator and woodworker and has had work exhibited in Graffiti Women: Street Art from Five Continents.
