Maya is a visual artist trained in ceramics and drawing. In 2005, during an experimental residency in Montreal, she stumbled upon the medium of animation and has been making films ever since. She is the co-founder of MediaUnDefined, a non-profit organization that produces community-engaged media. Maya was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey.
